The 8 Project presents: Tomer Peretz X Michael Solomonov

Tomer Peretz X Michael Solomonov | Shabbat Dinner by Michael Solomonov

About this experience

Curated and created by Tomer Peretz, founder of The 8 Project.

This intimate exhibition features works by artists directly affected by the current war in Israel. Each participating artist completed a minimum two-month residency as part of The 8 Project rehabilitation and art therapy program in Los Angeles.

You are invited to a private exhibition, a rare and personal encounter between art and healing.
This evening is designed to create a genuine connection between the artists, survivors of war, and the guests who step into their world.

We are honored to host Chef Michael Solomonov, a James Beard Award–winning chef whose story is deeply intertwined with that of artist Tomer Peretz.
Two decades ago, Michael’s brother, David Solomonov, served under Tomer in Golani 13 and was killed during a military operation on the Israel–Lebanon border on October 6, 2003, while Tomer was there with him.
From that moment of loss grew a lifelong bond between Michael and Tomer, two creators who turned shared pain into purpose, resilience, and art.

This exclusive evening will be both emotional and inspiring, an immersive experience celebrating art, healing, and growth.

Program:

6:00 PM - Opening Reception with wine Bar + Stations of hummus, pita & salatim, fish.

7:00 PM - Doors Close

Attendance is limited to 75 guests. Invitation only.

100% funds go to support the therapeutic residency program.

An award-winning Israeli-American artist, born in Jerusalem and based in Los Angeles. Known for his powerful blend of figurative, realism, and conceptual work. HIS ART explores human emotion, identity, memory, and the space between personal and collective trauma. His style merges realism with intentional erasure, uncovering what lies beneath the surface.

A combat veteran of the Israeli military, Tomer has used art as a tool for healing since a young age. After moving to L.A., he built a successful international career, exhibiting across the U.S., Europe, and Israel.

In October 2023, while visiting family in Israel, Tomer volunteered with ZAKA in the aftermath of the Hamas terrorist attacks. This experience became a profound artistic and personal turning point, leading him to found The 8 Project.

In 2025, he was named the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at the Museum of Tolerance, where he unveiled ART WILL S8T YOU FREE, a groundbreaking exhibition co-created with over 850 trauma survivors. The installation stands as a public act of healing, remembrance, and resistance against antisemitism and hate.

Through his work, Tomer continues to transform pain into connection, using art to build bridges that transcend language, culture, and borders.
