Join us on September 3, ahead of Rosh Hashanah, for a special Challah Separation evening dedicated to the women of the IDF and the final event at The 8 Project’s current New York gallery.
The evening begins with making challah together, followed by a conversation with Gaya Gurman, who served as a combat medic in Gaza during the Swords of Iron War. While the dough rises, Gaya will share her personal story and speak about Parashat Nitzavim, its call to stand together as a community and to “choose life,” a message that carries particular meaning for those returning home from war and rebuilding what comes next.
The evening will conclude with Hafrashat Challah led by Rotem Itzhaky, bringing us together in a tradition that feels especially meaningful as we approach the new year.
Our final night in this gallery will be dedicated to the women who served, the strength of community, and the choice to keep moving forward.
100% of proceeds support The 8 Project’s Rehabilitation Residency Program, helping Israeli soldiers rebuild their lives beyond trauma.
