Multiple Sizes available: 12"x12", 24"x24"

This firefighter portrait was created by Shaked Salton in a bold WPAP pop-art style and emerged from a collaboration between The 8 Project and Fire Station No. 8 in West Hollywood.

Drawing on shared experiences in emergency response and high-risk situations, the piece reflects a deep connection between first responders across communities. The vibrant geometric colors convey the life, energy, and hope firefighters bring into moments of crisis - honoring those who run toward danger to protect and rescue others. The collaboration also opened space for personal storytelling, offering a human and direct way to share the Israeli experience through lived reality rather than headlines.

Shaked Salton is an Israeli art director and visual artist, and a resident of The 8 Project’s residency program. Formerly working at one of Israel’s leading advertising agencies, her life shifted after October 7, when she was drafted as a combat sergeant in a search and rescue unit and lost close friends in the war. Today, her work sits at the intersection of advocacy, memory, and visual storytelling, using art as a tool for resilience and impact.
