12"x20" on Fine Art Paper
This photographic diptych by Dmitry Pomazan presents soldiers photographed in the midst of battle and shortly after, with approximately twenty minutes separating the two images. Placed side by side, the photographs capture the shift between intensity and aftermath, holding the fragile space where adrenaline fades and reality settles.
This work is sold as a single artwork (one edition), composed of two photographs.
Dmitry Pomazan is a photographer based in Israel and a former resident of The 8 Project. After serving in the military reserves for nearly a year, his practice - originally focused on food photography - shifted fundamentally following October 7, evolving into an exploration of war, memory, and human fragility. Shaped through the residency and personal mentorship with Tomer Peretz, he now creates photographic and mixed-media works that navigate the thin line between beauty and devastation.
